Alderley Edge Golf Club has come a long way since 1907, when a small group of novice golfers decided to establish a course on the unpromising pasture known locally as Butterfly Bank. Dogged by problems with tenure of the land, drainage, and a course that was simply too small, these determined individuals eventually established a viable and flourishing club, which today not only boasts a fine course and a modern, comfortable clubhouse, but is widely regarded as one of the friendliest clubs in the area..
