Captain's Prize 2006

Well, he really has got something to talk about now ! Chatterbox Mark Aspinall came good to become the youngest ever winner of the Captain's Prize, with a second round of 66 for a 138 total. He also has the distinction of being the youngest member to have his name on an honours board at Alderley Edge.

Remarkably, second place was also taken by a junior, Marcus Higginbottom, who has only been playing for a few months. Anthony Cummings was third.

The event was played in glorious sunshine over both days, but although there is barely a blade of rough on the course, some rounds were taking up to 5 hours !

The Captain was a superb host, and seemed to do very well with his bookmaking activities. The Saturday night social event was very well supported and as usual the alcoholic intake impaired the performances of more than a few competitors on the Sunday !
