Captain's Day 2005

The second round of the Captain's Prize for 2005 was played in brilliant sunshine. Leaders from the first round, held the previous week, were Brian Boughey and Steve Lomas, but they slipped back down the field. It was Brian McGuire who set the early pace with a superb nett 64. This was not quite good enough, however, as back-to-form Gary Johnstone came in with a 65 to add to the previous weeks 67, for a 132 total. Gary was runner up in 2004, and his wife and daughter were on hand to see him take the winner's prize and Captain's Cup.

Round of the day came from Paul Broome, who shot a nett 60 including an eagle on the 2nd.

The evening party was well attended, Richard having unearthed "Buddy Holly" in the Waterloo district of Merseyside ! In fact, we were astounded to realise that Mick Jagger is in our midstl........he's masquerading as our Captain !
