1984 Marley Wheelchair Fundraising

In 1984 Ken Greenhill and Captain Graham Sumner initiated fundraising events for the Marley Wheelchair charity. This organisation raised funds for powered wheelchairs for handicapped children.  The club was proud to eventually raise  enough to purchase two of these expensive devices. We were doubly fortunate that Bobby Carlton made a special effort to come along to the club to present these wheelchairs to two very deserving and excited youngsters.

One of the main fundraising events was a sponsored 150 hole golf marathon.....this embarrassing picture appeared in the local rag !!
