Alderley Edge Golf ClubWarmly and enthusiastically made welcome by the staff at Holywell, twenty eight hardy golfers braved the wind and the sheep to enjoy an afternoon of golf and a two course dinner, just for the fun of it. There were prizes galore, with Mr Vice's team coming out top (accompanied by LVC Celia Berent, Karen and Brian Pennington), with the Ricketts and Roberts' team coming in second. Collecting the best scores on the par threes prize was Team Thornber with Sandra Smith and Mark Walker. Nearest the pins were Graham Davies (with blow by blow detail of his achievement) and Keith Beckett.
It was a great day, very relaxed and good fun. Whilst there has been slow take up of the Sunday weekend informal competitions so far, perhaps those participating at this event will carry their enthusiasm into the next season and the Sunday mixed will become a really popular event?
