Alderley Edge Golf Club
In a year when great matches have been ended unsuccessfully on penalty shoot outs, Alderley Edge Ladies team continued the theme when they were narrowly beaten in their Bell Cup quarter final against a very strong Mere team.
To make the competition fair, an neutral course was found, Saddleworth Golf Club with it's stunning views of rolling hills.
As one of the supporters who turned up to cheer on the ladies, it was so tense to watch as the results came in. Suddenly it was 3 matches all with the deciding match going down the 19th. Sadly it was not meant to be this time as the putt off on the last hole went the way of Mere.
The matches were played in great spirit and virtually every one was decided on the 18th.
Well done to Alderley Ladies for a magnificent performance.
