Captain's Evening Photos
The Captain would like to thank everyone who came on Captain's Evening for making it such a great night. Also special thanks to Chris and his team for the canapes, to Jon Grundy & Steve for the cocktails and Phil Wood for the disco, they were all amazing. I hope you enjoy the photographs, certain ones had to be censored...
Which Club does Tony select to get him out of this predicament?
Chris Hoyland, Tony Adderley, Mr. President and Trevor Rathbone enjoyed an excellent day of golf and hospitality at Vale Royal. The occasion was another meeting of the North West Golf Steward's Association. Mr President and Trevor only just missed out on the prizes coming 4th on a count back with Chris and Tony playing via the trees to a lower placing.
East Cheshire Hospice
On Saturday 8th, Alastair Kennedy, one of the Trustees of the East Cheshire Hospice attended presentation. The Captain presented him with a cheque for £3,340 from the Charity Golf Day in June. Alastair spoke about the new service the Hospice is planning to launch to enable patients to receive treatment in their own homes, as an additional option to staying within the Hospice itself. The funds will go towards the launch of the new service. He thanked the Club for their support.
The charity day was excellently organised by Brian Foden, who has raised over £80,000 for various charities over the years, and is rapidly closing in on the £100,000.
The Captain also presented an additional cheque for £125 which was raised from the Hospital Trophy in May.
Many thanks to all those who entered the charity day and donated prizes to help raise this excellent total.
Centenary Trophy
The Centenary Trophy was instituted in the Club's Centenary year, 2017, as a Major Competition to be played for by all Members. This year it was played for on Sunday 2nd July. The victor was Stephen Saunders with an 85-22-63. As well as the prize, Stephen will be able to see his name on the Honours Board in the Main Lounge for all time.
Mike Easton came a close second with 79-15=64. Celia Berent was the leading lady with 86-13=69.
The lovely trophy was donated by Graham & Margaret Sumner. It was good to see them both at the prize presentation.
Well played Steve.
