Monthly England Golf Medal

This was played on Tuesday.

What an amazing round Liz Gardner had, coming in with 65 points! Well done LIz.

In second place was Jo McGregor and third place Mo Monk.

Next Tuesday the ladies are playing the Brenda Hendry Par Competition. This competition was named after a long standing member whose family donated a silver dish to the ladies section in her memory. Par competitions, although we play very few, were Brenda's favourite format.

Lady President's Day

On Tuesday the 20th August we had Lady President's Day. Marion Hall, this years Lady President treated the Ladies to a lovely day.

This was our second attempt after being rained off the first time! Fortunately this time we were in luck, we had sunshine!

We were treated to chocolate and Pimm's halfway round which went down a treat.

The day was followed by an evening presentation.

1st place Jo McGregor

2nd place Lisa Burns

3rd place Tracy Smith

Nearest the pins were Justine Jackson and Wendy Rule

Best front 9 Jo McGregor with 19 points

Best back 9 Valerie Hornsby with 20 points ( what a difference chocolate and Pimm's make )

A big thank you to Lady President for a great day.

Elsie's Tour this year was at Shaw Hall Golf and Country Club.

A great time was had by the Ladies Section on our annual away trip.

The theme this year was Wimbledon. Some very inventive outfits were on display at breakfast. We were even joined by a Womble!

We played 2 rounds of golf despite the weather.

On the Sunday the winning team was Gwyn and Ali with Liz and Sue F 2nd. Longest drive went to Carol and nearest the pin Sue F.

On Monday the winning team was Gwyn, Karen, Terri and Sue F, with Claire ( Uncle Bulgaria ) the costume winner.

Many thanks to Gwyn for organising the weekend.
