Lady Captain's Charity Day
I would like to thank everyone for their help and support on my Lady Captain's Race afternoon in aid of the MS Society.
We were blessed with sunshine, the prosecco was flowing and the horses were running well.
We had a raffle, cakes, auction of prizes and the races program.
It was Ascot week so the ladies dressed up accordingly, hats and fascinators in abundance!
Around 90 people attended, family, friends and members of the golf club and an amazing £2,700 was raised.
I would like to thank the local businesses who supported me and everyone who attended or bought raffle tickets for their generosity for making it such a successsful day.
I hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed themselves as much as I did.
Thank you once again.
In celebration of the longest day, 14 ladies met up at the club at 7.30am to take part in Midsummer Madness, a 9 hole competition.
14 ladies played, 4 teams of 3 and 2 teams having " ghosts "
Tied winners on 30 points, but the team of Olwen, Karen and Liz Gardner won on last 6 countback.
There was slight drizzle when we started but it soon dried out and it wasn't until the last hole for most of us that the rain started. One team who were slightly later in were soaked ( Valerie, Liz McG and Terri )
The ladies then enjoyed a breakfast of bacon rolls or smoked salmon bagels with a glass of bucks fizz. Lady Vice decided to stay in bed but joined everyone for breakfast
Lady Captain's Day Take Two!

Business Ladies Results
Unfortunately our Business Ladies lost 3-0 at Bramhall Park on Sunday.
All three games were closely contested with two lost on the 18th and the third 2/1.
We started out in lovely sunshine full of hope that we would escape the rain forcast for the afternoon but we were caught out in three heavy showers.
Here is hoping for finer weather for the next Business Ladies match.
Once again we were provided with a lovely afternoon tea with sandwiches and cake.
This Tuesday was the mnothly medal which was played in fine dry conditions in the morning but in heavy rain for the ladies playing in the afternoon.
The conditions did not deter Karen Pennington who played in the afternoon and came in with a score of 72 after a cpo with Olwen Davies.
Well done to Karen and Olwen.
A group of ladies also played in the 9 hole competition which was won also on a cpo by Liz Gardner with Angela Atkinson coming second.
Business Ladies Results
On Sunday, the business ladies played away at Heyrose.
It was a 2-1 win to Heyrose.
The Heyrose ladies were very welcoming and the club provided a very nice sandwich match tea after the game.
