Business Ladies Match
On Sunday the 7th April, the ladies matches kicked off with a Business Ladies match against Bramhall Park at home.
The result was 2-1 win to Bramhall Park
Thanks to Lady Vice Captain Sue, Gwyn and Olwen for playing
Ladies & Seniors Texas Scramble
This was played on Friday the 5th April.
A Scramble proved to be a popular choice for this biennial get together with the seniors. Far more relaxed than the matches of previous years and great fun was had by all.
The winners with a score of 62 were the team of Lady Vice Captain, Valerie, Drew and David S.
In our first mixed event of the season, this was well supported with 20 players playing on a nice sunny day in parts but with a very cold wind.
Our meal was outstanding, all credit to Jason.
Our winners were;
Ron Ricketts & Celia Berent with 38 points
In second place were
Paul & Yvonne Grundy with 36 points.
Nearest the pin was Celia Berent.
The draw for the Barbara Aimes has been done and will be up on the mixed notice board with all mixed events in the foyer.
Here's to an enjoyable Mixed 2019.
Alison & John Roberts.
Daily Mail Foursomes
After a tough fought battle with the Wilmslow girls on their course, Tracy Smith and Wendy Rule were beaten on the 19th hole.
Sadly they will not be advancing into the second round on behalf of Alderley Edge.
Being at the begining of the new golf year, we are now starting the knockout games within our club to find out who will be playing on our behalf next year.
On Tuesday the 19th February after the Ladies nine hole competition, we all gathered together for lunch.
We had fine weather and a good turnout for our golf outing.
After lunch, Mary ( last years Lady Captain ), presented a cheque for £1535.15 to the charity Kidney Research UK. Jeanette Wild, a representative accepted it on their behalf and gave a speech of acceptance.
Well done Mary.
The Committee and Past Lady Captain's Lunch
On Thursday afternoon 22 ladies enjoyed The Committee and Past Lady Captain's Lunch.
It was attended by past Lady Captain's Liz Black, Christine Copeland, Margaret Ford, Joan Royal, and Anne Thornber who are no longer members.
Lady President, Marion Hall, proposed a toast to the Ladies section and treated us to a very welcome bottle of wine on the table. This went down a treat!
It was a very enjoyable afternoon with delicious food and great company and a good time was had by all.
A big thank you to Margaret and Jean for organising the event.
