Further Match Results
Good Afternoon Ladies,
If you haven’t already heard we have had a DOUBLE SUCCESS this year in that the Ladies Business Team and the Ladies Cheshire East League B Team have both come top of their respective Leagues this year and go forward to the Quarter Finals of both competitions!
Well done to each of the teams and a big thank you to all who have played in the matches or put themselves out to be reserves. Of course we mustn’t forget to thank the organisers of both - Sue Freeman for the Ladies Business team and Mary O’Toole for the Cheshire League – it is no mean feat trying to organise the dates and the teams!
The Business Ladies will play their quarter final match on Saturday 20th August against Hazel Grove at Birchwood Golf Club.
The Cheshire League quarter final match will be played on Monday 22nd August – we are still waiting to hear who we play and where.
Good luck to everyone who plays in the respective matches – have fun but here’s to the semi’s and the finals!
Very best wishes
Great news for the Business Ladies have finished top of their group after winning all four matches.
They are to play against Hazel Grove in the quarter finals before the 22nd August. Good luck to the team.
On Monday the final Shield match was played.
Well done to Celia, Gwyn, Marion, Valerie, Sue, Olwen and Liz for winning 4 matches to 3 at home against Stockport, really good result.
Hopefully we will be at the top of our group depending on the final match Romiley has to play.
Fingers crossed we might be in the quarter finals as well.

Ladies with the Captain on 19th July.
Well done to Wendy, Gwyn and Karen for their 2-1 win against Didsbury at home on Sunday.
The team have done so well they qualify to play in the quarter finals on the week end of the 20/21st August, so good luck ladies.
With so many ladies away on holiday it hasn't been easy to put a team together so I was pleased to see these new volunteers,
Unfortunately they were a bit too frisky and enthusiastic so we managed to catch one and tether him to a tree but it took police in 3 cars place numerous volunteers several hours to round up the other two. Thank you to Hilary for all her efforts before we all arrived.
Meanwhile the Bell Cup match was under way with players being slightly distracted by galloping horses on the fairways and greens.
Bolton Old Links had sent out a very strong team, winning 5 matches to 2 but despite that, most of the matches were taken to the 17th and 18th hole.
Thank you to the team of Wendy, Gwyn, Marion, Sue, Lisa, Helen E, and Sandra and luckily all the matches were completed before the thunder and lightening and torrential rain started.
