Texas Scramble Results - Sat 8 August
A great summers day to have a team-based event and a chance to introduce 15 introductory/temporary members to the fun, banter, beer and competitive side of Alderley Edge Golf Club.
Hopefully, everyone enjoyed it but looking at the cards one or two had a little extra pressure getting in all their drives before they ran out of holes.
Congratulations to the winners with a Gross 59 net 53.1 who were: Ed Lawton, Brian Foden, Matt Cresey and James Graham
In second place with Gross 61 net 56.3 were: Richard Walker, Keith Doyle, Andrew Ashcroft and Andrew Marshall
On a card count back, with net 58 and 31 on the back 9, the third place goes to: Gary Johnstone, Richard Isles, Adrian Bates and John Atkinson
The two other teams with net 58 had 32 front and 32 back are:
Drew Roberts, Ron Ricketts, Jon Grundy and Dan Moss
and
Andy Wells, Roy Parker, Alex Campbell and Greg Rhodes
The time to play was clearly in the afternoon with the winner, second and fourth in the last 3 groups.
Thank you

Professional’s Prize Competition
Thank you to everyone who took part in my Pro's Prize on Saturday, apart from a little bit of rain first thing it ended up being a nice day for golf and the scoring showed that too.
Congratulations to our President, Paul Penney for winning with 40 points off 6, reducing his handicap to 5. New member Paul Finney narrowly missed out on a card playoff, reducing his handicap to 13.
Andrew Boyle continued his run of good form with 39 points, reducing to 11 for the first time and Tom Ricketts seems to be enjoying his newly custom fitted set of Ping clubs scoring 38 for fourth place.
In fifth with was Brian Foden with 37 despite playing from the wrong tee box on the 10th tee!
I also carried out the draw for the trip for two to Woodhall Spa in the evening, which was won by Tom Ricketts.

Winter League - Captain and Pro still top
After the first game in 2020 on 5 Jan, the Captain and the Pro's team are still top of the league with 19 points, followed by Team D (G Johnstone, G Olson, M Davies and N McGuiness) with 17 points, with a number of teams following very closely behind.
Only 2 matches to go!
The latest table is here:
There is one fewer team in the League than last year, but it is expected that it will still be contested in true tradition, hard fought, keenly contested, but respecting the opposition, in the spirit of fair play, and finishing with the customary drink with the opposition in the bar at the Captain's ball-draw.
Good luck and enjoy.
