Good weather for the fourth round of the Simister Cup.

The course was in good condition considering it is winter, especially the greens.

39 hardy souls turn out for the round with Gary Johnstone being the winner.  Gary played in the morning which seemed to produce some of the better scores.

The top 3 was as follows

• Gary Johnstone
• Joe Yakub
• Andrew Slater

With Joe having already qualified it means Vice President Peter Wood is a qualifier having finished in fifth.

Bill Fisher conducted the presentation and also revealed the news on the 2s Club, that no one had a two and that £58.50 will be carried over to the Fifth round of the Simister Cup.  With a pot likely to be worth over £120 it would be a good Saturday to play.

Simister Cup Presentations are 4.30pm and we actively encourage those who participated to attend.

The eagerly awaited results and commentary on the 2019 Wednesday Roll Up are now in. On behalf of the Wednesday Roll Up "Brigade", many thanks to Tony Adderley for his organisational and reporting skills.

Bob Anderson was duly elected Captain of Alderley Edge Golf Club at the AGM on Friday night for the 2020 season.  Paul Penney was elected as President again. 

No Vice-Captain was elected, this will be addressed over the coming months.

Both Bob & Paul will serve on the Gents' Golf Committee next year.  The other members duly elected to serve on the Committee are:

All the Committee look forward to seeing you all at the traditional Captain's Drive-In on New Year's Day.  In the meantime, have a great Christmas holiday.

December 2019

The Gents Golf Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 6th December 2019 in the Clubhouse at 7pm.

Please make every effort to attend to support your new Captain & President. There will be an opportunity at the end of the meeting to raise and discuss any issues you may have relating to Gents or Junior golf at the Club.

Nomination sheets for the Officers and Members of the Gents Golf Committee are posted on the Club Notice-Board next to the bar if anyone would like to stand for the Committee.
