Mixed Golf is very much about social golf. Many of the competitions for 2019 will be ‘Club-wide’, truly mixed with any combination of player making up teams or partnerships. Guests are invited along too to the informal events to participate and enjoy the hospitality at AEGC.
As usual support from the members is requested for the traditional events - The Barbara Ames Mixed knockout and the Jubilee Trophy, as well as the prestigious Centenary Cup, the only mixed Major open to all full members with CONGU competition handicaps.
Players are encouraged to sign up for the Barbara Ames knockout trophy, current holders are last year’s Presidents (well done Yvonne and Paul Grundy) but if you don’t have a partner, sign up anyway and a partner will be located.
The Archie Preston interclub knockout is always popular, priority on the team is given to those players who support the mixed and are used to playing mixed golf.
The Jubilee Open/Invitation is always a good way to get visitors and guests to enjoy the course with a highly competitive field. Please let golfing friends know about this event (SUNDAY JULY 28th ) and either invite them yourselves to be your guests or suggest they pal up with friends to make a four ball and book in on BRS via the OPEN COMPETITIONS link.
Also, start your weekend with a relaxed knock around nine holes with the Friday Nines roll up – mostly the first Friday each month.
Dates for Mixed are on the Noticeboard in the Foyer and the noticeboard section of the web-site.
