Bunty Booth Competition

Congratulations to Alison Roberts for winning the Bunty Booth competition with a score of 35points which in the very wet muddy conditions was a great score.

Alison will now play in the final at Lymm Golf Club on June 8th 2018.

Well done to Jo Pratt who came second with 32 points. Jo will be the reserve if Alison is unable to play.

The October Medal was also won by Alison scoring 80 points. On both days the CSS was 75 reflecting how difficult the course was playing.

Medal Final AND Hole In One

Today saw the ladies playing in the Medal Final. In not easy conditions this was won for the first time by Celia with a score of 76 points.

Meanwhile out on the course there was much excitement when Olwen got a Hole In One on the 6th.

Well done Olwen and thank you for the drinks at the end of the competition

Ladies v Seniors Texas Scramble

Friday saw 5 teams of 4 go out in the Ladies and Seniors competition, which was played in dry and pleasantly warm conditions, thankfully the rain stayed off until everyone came in.

The winning team was Dave Slater, Carl Parnell, Barbara Moss and Lady Vice, Mary O'Toole. The team went out in 35 and back in 36, an excellent score which was aided by a hole in one scored by Carl Parnell on the 4th.

Thank you Carl for the round of drinks enjoyed by everyone and Very Well Done. it was Carl's first hole in one, but I am sure it won't be his last.

Lady President's Day

Lady President's Day finally got under way on Tuesday, and while we didn't get wall to wall sunshine, it was certainly better than the deluge of a couple of weeks ago!

It was lovely to welcome quite a few ladies to the presentation who had not played and I would like to thank everyone who took time to come back and have a drink and a bit of banter.

Liz McGuire won with 34 points with Gwyn Holt second ( 33 points ) and Anne Thornber third (32 points )

Margaret Sumner won the 9 hole competition.

Well done and thanks to all who took part.

Ladies Exchange Day

Tuesday evenings weather forcast was viewed with dismay because it showed rain and the following day was Alderley ladies Exchange Day at New Mills and, even with wonderful panoramic views, New Mills course is not a place you want to be in pouring rain.

But Wednesday morning arrived minus the heavy rain and, okay there were a few showers, but we can cope with those.

As it happened, due to a society booking at New Mills in the morning, we were unable to go out until 1 o'clock. This proved to be to our advantage as when our first tee time approached the sun came out and it became pleasantly warm.

After all the teams had played, the ladies came in to a very welcoming, cosy room where good food was consumed and after a couple of glasses of wine the prize winners were announced.

The puttting competition was won by Tracy McGregor on 33.

Nearsest the pin was Celia Berent and the longest drive was Olwen Davies.

The 9 hole competition was won by Margaret Sumner, but the team competition was won by Val Hornsby, Lady President, Yvonne Grundy, Lady Captain, Gwyn Holt and Karen Pennington with a tremendous score of 95.

Well done ladies!

New Mills very generously donated  a free 4 ball voucher which was won by Mary Beckett in a draw.

Oh well, that's the Exchange Day over for 2017, enjoyed by everyone and always good fun.
