Millenium Trophy

On a beautiful dry, sunny Tuesday , the ladies played their first major of the season, the Millenium Trophy which had been presented to the ladies section by Helen Williams.

The winner with 38 points was Helen Fitch closely followed by Liz McGuire with 37 points, well done ladies.

Lady Captain took the opportunity to catch up on previous competitions including the Winter Knockout. This was won by Lady Captain's team which included LC, Helen Edwards, Hannah Rathbone and Jo Pratt.

The ladies all enjoyed sitting out on the new patio furniture in the sun with a drink kindly provided by LC.

Business Ladies Match

In the lovely weather on Sunday, our ladies team of Olwen, Karen and Helen F,  played a Business Ladies match ( also known as Weekend Match ) away at Ringway.

Two of the matches went to 18 holes but unfortunately the final result was 2:1 to Ringway.

Hopefully our ladies will have better luck for the Home match against Ringway in June.

Bell Cup

In the first round of this prestigious competiton, Alderley were drawn at home against Prestbury, to be played on Sunday 29/4/18

Despite the wet weather the course was open but very wet and muddy with difficult green conditions.

Alderley's team incuded Celia, Gwyn, Janette, Sue K, Olwen, Karen, Claire who played very well against the title holders  whose handicaps varied from 5 to 13.

A competative match with Prestbury being the stronger players  winning 5-2, they now go on to play Sandiway GC

Everyone enjoyed a lovely cream tea provided by Chris.

Shield B Match

On Monday the 30/4/18 the ladies team of Celia, Gwyn, Sue K, Olwen, Jo, Liz McG, Tracy McG played at home against Hazel Grove.

The home team had a very good win, 4.5 to 2.5, well done

9 Hole League

Played at Hazel Grove both teams drawing with 50 points each

 

Business Ladies

Played at home against Romiley drawing the match 1.5 to 1.5

Daily Mail Foursomes

Karen Pennington and Sue Kendrick played in the second round of the Daily Mail Foursomes at Alderley on Thursday against Wilmslow Golf Club.

Fortunately the course was open but very wet. After a very close and friendly match, the ladies from Wilmslow won. We wish them well in the next round.
