Seniors Noticeboard

Fourteen golfers out of a planned 26 made it to the first tee in very wet conditions this morning (Mon 27 July) to be dried out briefly with short bursts of sunshine throughout the round.

Alan Adams came first with 31 points. After a card playoff for 2nd and 3rd place between Drew Sutton, Gerrard Appleton and Dave Read all scoring 29 points, Drew Sutton took 2nd place and Gerrard Appleton 3rd.

Congratulations to all.

No two's were recorded this morning so the full prize money has been divided between the 3 players.

Let's hope for better weather for the next comp - the J C Brown Bowl on the 5th August.

The winners of the Beetlestone Bowl competition were John Kendrick and Bryn Roberts with 42 points.  

The contest for second and third place had to be decided by a card play off and in second place with 40 points were Alan Adams and Vin Kelly and in third place also with 40 points were Don Crawshaw and David Jeans.

Five players scored twos - Bryn Roberts, Bob Pindar, Alex Campbell, Eddie Smith and David Potts.

Congratulations to all winning players.

In difficult weather conditions, the Seniors played for the Captain’s Prize on Wednesday.  Third after a card play off was Dave Read with 32 points.  Second was Trevor Rathbone also with 32 points. 

The clear winner was Alex Campbell, with a very creditable 34 points.

Captain

The Beetlestone Bowl seniors’ better ball stableford was played on Wednesday, 7^th June.

The winners were Brian Banfield and John Kendrick with 41 points with Don Crawshaw and David Potts runners up on 38 points.

The course was in excellent condition and, although weather conditions were very windy, at least it did not rain.

The Captain was very pleased to award two prizes to-day to the winners of two Seniors competitions.

In to-day’s competition, Dave Atkinson was the winner of the Captain’s Prize with 39 points and runner up on the same score Gerald Tatlock.  They are being presented with The Captains Prize by Pete & Lindsey

Gerald Tatlock won the Jackie Brown Trophy with 38 points in the Seniors competition held on 10^th August.  In the other photo, Gerald is being presented with the Jackie Brown Trophy by the AEGC Captain & Lindsey Barnes.
