Winning the November Simister competition is John Newsham with 21 points. John beat Martin Glenister in a play off.

John wins £50.

What is the Simister Competion

This is a 7 round Stableford competition played on the first Saturday of every month in the close season. For the first 6 rounds the top 4 qualify for the final in April. It is only possible to qualify once. If a player finishes in the top 4 again then the 5^th placed player will qualify.

Rounds 1 and 6 are played over 18 holes. Rounds 2 – 5 are played over 9 holes. The final is 18 holes.

The final in April will consist of 24 players playing for the prestigious Simister trophy.

Entry is £5 with £1.50 towards the 2’s pot.

The Winter League fixtures commence on Sunday 6th November 2022 at 9.30 shotgun start.

We have 13 teams and a total of 48 players which is great news !  ( as we have again an odd number of teams there will be a rest week each week for one of the teams-as shown on the fixture sheet). 

The champs from last season are playing again - Team I.

The fixtures are below and we will display this in the locker room. This document also shows the starting tees for each game - shotgun start at 9.30 am.

The rules and procedures for the competition are also below. Please read it !!!

Please ensure that the result of your game (including holes won by each team) is communicated to John Newsham. If I am playing you can do this verbally or otherwise by email or phone.  If you do not send your result in then we cannot allocate any points for the results table to the sides. 

Each team has to pay the entry fee of £20 - please put this in an envelope with your team details noted in the safe at the side of the main bar area.

Winter League Teams and Fixtures

Winter League Rules

There was some reasonable scoring in the 5 club challenge notwithstanding the shortage of club options

The winner of the £50 voucher on count back was Duncan Macpherson with 37 points - score boosted by two twos !

Andy Marshall was second - 37 points .

There were nine twos in total worth £7.50 each 

The presentation will be on the evening of closing slides (22nd October) - have you put your names down for that ? (sheet in locker room)

The winter league sheet is also up - if you would like to play and you are not already in a team but your name in the bottom section and teams will be made up .

The Monthly Competition was competed for under Medal conditions with a supplementary Medal for those who had not qualified.

The winner of the Monthly Competition Final was Bobby Murphy winning £100 with the runner up being Josh Price who wins £50.
