Introducing our new Greenkeeper

Dear Members,

As you are aware, we have been recruiting a new assistant greenkeeper to help the greens team maintain the standards of the golf course.  We are pleased to announce that Harlie Stokes has joined the greenkeeping team here at the golf club and started on Monday.  Harlie has previously worked at Hartford Golf Club for the last three years following doing a two year course in Sports Turf  Greenkeeping at Reaseheath College and has a great passion for greenkeeping. Harlie plays off a golf handicap of 15 whilst also spending his spare time playing hockey for Winnington Park.

I am sure you will all wish Harlie the best of luck in his new role and he is looking forward to meeting all the members over the duration of the next few weeks.

Thanks

Max Sullivan

General Manager

Hilary Gradon retires from AEGC

Alderley Edge Golf Club members, family and friends sincerely thank Hilary for her significant support and role as Club Secretary over the past 10 years. We all wish Hilary and her family a successful future and look forward to seeing her out and about locally.

Hilary has had many temporary roles in AEGC during her tenure and this has been greatly appreciated by all of the members and guests. She has worked steadfastly with the Management of the club and, of course, been pivotal to guests coming up the hill, when she has greeted them with a smile and special welcome.

Hilary has also supported at least eight Gents & Lady Captains, Presidents and Vice Captains during her stay in office. She has also assisted our Staff and Professional in her versatile role plus helped new members find their feet in our ‘great club’.

We are all grateful to Hilary for her professionalism, expertise and most importantly her happy, friendly manner. We wish her well in her future quests and again say a big thank you from all at AEGC.

Many members, family and friends were delighted to take up Hilary’s invitation to her retirement evening on 29 June where she was presented with gifts from the Club.
