250 Club winners drawn - December 2021

We are pleased to let you know that the 4th 250 Club draw of 2021 was held in the Clubhouse on Saturday. Congratulations to the four lucky winners, as follows:

1st Prize (£350) - Sue Slater
2nd Prize (£175) - Dave Lee
3rd Prize (£125) - Callum Stewart
4th Prize (£75) - John Kendrick

At present, we have just nearly 100 members of the 250 Club and, as always, we are looking for more people to join. It costs only £5 per month, paid via direct debit or standing order.

We have four draws a year (roughly one every 3 months), with half of all proceeds going towards Club funds and the other half shared out in prizes. If 100 members all pay £15 over 3 months, it would give us £1,500 in the pot for the next draw. £750 of this would go towards Club funds whilst the rest is split between the four winners.

Plenty of prizes at the Christmas Social

It’s sometimes just as good to receive as it is to give…..and there was plenty of giving at the Club on Sunday! Charles, the Club Professional and Brian Pennington (Mr Captain) drew prizes for the ‘fundraising for the locker room refurbishment’, the winners of the Barbara Ames mixed knockout were awarded with their trophy, and the final draw of 2021 for the 250 club took place drawn by Janette Smith (Lady Captain).

Mark Walker and Fiona Anderson (Lady Vice-Captain) were the winners of the Barbara Ames mixed knockout with Tracy and Roger Smith runners up.

With some excellent mulled wine and probably the best mince pies this side of Lymm on offer (courtesy of Rob Sexton’s family) the event had a great Christmassy feel about it.

Christmas Social – from 3.30pm Sunday 12 Dec - all members welcome

Christmas is on its way…..all members welcome!

The presentation to the winners and runners-up of the Barbara Ames Mixed Knock-out will take place on Sunday 12th December at the Christmas Social.  From 3.30pm (moved forward from 4pm) Charles will hold the raffle to raise funds for the locker rooms' refurbishment, and to add to the festive feeling, along with live Christmas music, there will be mulled wine and warm mince pies available to purchase.  And with even more chances to come away with a prize, the 250 club draw will take place too.

Prior to this, there will be a nine hole Crazy Christmas Challenge competition, open to all golfers.  Sign up sheet is on BRS with tee times from 12.30pm.  We look forward to seeing plenty of members at the Club on the 12th December.

Thank you

A super Quiz Night at the Club

It was great to see everyone’s collective grey matter leap into action last Saturday at the quiz night. The clubhouse was filled with eager quizzers challenged with a wide range of topics …

Quizzy Rascals romped home first, with Harriets Team a close second.

Thanks to quiz master Sam for his ‘speed quiz’, and we look forward to a repeat of this popular event next spring!
