Padeswood and Bulkley - no photos required

Mixed weather for the mixed - but a great day out - 18 of us travelled across the border to Wales and enjoyed a closely fought 4BBB competition. There were some excellent scores but winners on the day were Lady Captain Ali partnered with John Roberts with 47 points and Mary and Chris O'Toole coming second with a commendable 46 points. As a reward for organising Lady President Gwyn Holt won one nearest the pin with Andy Holt winning the other!  Thanks to all of those who supported the event - and diaries out for the next mixed which will be on the 21st October

Mixed Section Day Out

The sign up sheet for the visit to Padeswood and Bulkeley on Friday 9th September is now in the foyer. As usual, please indicate menu choices and if you wish to play with specific people, please mark that against your name as there will be a draw for teams. For this occasion you are welcome to bring along a guest if you wish but it will be first come first served as there are only 28 places!

Jubilee Trophy - Mixed Open/Invitation

A pleasantly sunny day greeted the members, their guests and visitors to the Club as a healthy field of 28 teams competed for the Jubilee Trophy. The first prize was won by Julie Ricketts and her guest Steve Carless (Bramhall Park)  with a great score of 43 points, second place to Celia Berent and her partner John Lavin, invited by Mr Captain, with 39 points. Third place with 38 points on a card play off was Andy Holt with Andrea Atherton (Prestbury). The visitor prize went to Margaret and Howard Davies, from Pryor Hayes and Chester GC with 36 points, their first time to the course so well done! Nearest the pins went to Pete Evans (Rochdale) on the 6th and Sue Lord (also Rochdale) on the 13th, with twos for Celia Berent and John Lavin, Peter Davies and Georgina Whalley and Ron Ricketts and Sue Carless.

We were delighted to welcome some long distance guests from Diss Golf Club - Barbara and Dennis, it will be great to see you next year!

Centenary Trophy

The Centenary Trophy, which is open to all categories of player in the Club, was played in pleasant sunshine by a large field.

Solid scoring resulted in Dan Featherstone winning with 40 points. Dan was playing in a group including his father, Nigel, who came in with 38 points, proving that inter-generational rivalry is a great motivator!

Tom Troup (junior)            38 points

Matt Spiller                         38 points
