AEGC - Kitchen update and thanks.

The deep clean in the kitchen is now complete and on behalf of all at A.E.G.C. I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to all those who helped accomplish the task.

Lady Captain Anne Thornber, Chairman of House Trevor Rathbone, Steve Bennett, Duncan Stevenson, Pete Burns, Brian Foden and Jacqui Winterbottom. All gave up their weekend and Monday to get the kitchen up to the required standard , they all worked extremely hard to complete the job and did so with good humour and diligence.

It proves to me that work can be done at A.E.G.C. by using volunteers who have the right skills and the desire to make our club a better place without unnecessary capital expenditure which is a benefit to all.

Once again, many thanks to everyone involved.

John Deakin

Captain A.E.G.C.

Message from Mr. Captain regarding Captain's Day

I would like to thank everyone who played in, helped out and participated in my Captain's weekend.

The standard of golf was excellent and my congratulations must go to a very worthy and popular winner in Luke Foden.

My thanks extend to everyone but I must single out a few individuals:

Duncan - you were a tremendous help; Tim Hoare, Stuart Hall, Paul Broome and Luke Foden - your efforts on the barbecue etc. were worthy of  Saturday Kitchen. Jennie, Jackie and the bar staff, thanks for all you did. Lady Captain and Hilary for your help on Saturday night. Drew Sutton for manicuring the patio and the 4th. Les Harding and the ground staff for the way the course was presented. Tony Hall and Charlie Hill for your kindness and generosity.

Jack Unsworth and Gordon Smith for a very enjoyable 4 holes, it was a privilege to play with you. Mark Seymour for checking the cards. Mr President for his kind words and all who attended the presentation. Our professional Charles for his help and last but by no means least The Marple Band for providing such wonderful and moving music.

If I have overlooked anyone please forgive me.

Congratulations once again to the winners but even if you weren't among the prizes your all winners in my book.

Thank you all for making my weekend such a memorable one.

 John Deakin

Mr. Captain

Kestrel-Cam pay us a flying visit

Duncan and Steve from Kestrel-Cam recently visited the club, with their remote drone, to carry out aerial photography of the course. When the video is complete you will be able to view it from the website and see the course and every hole as you’ve never seen it before! Watch this space.

There are a few photos from the session they spent at the club.
